Unhappy X-Plan problems...? Long...

Well, here is the scenario, and I wanted to ask some fellow owners who got "X" plan to see if they had too experienced the same thing?
We (had) a 2002 Lightning on order through our local dealer here in Phx.
It was all approved, got pricing, and a confirmation from the sales person and the Sales manager.
PIN number is good from EEA.
So , we have money down, truck on order.
We get a call from the dealer about two weeks after all this is set.
Can't do "X" plan on a "L"!
WHAT?
General manager says it cannot be done on an ordered Lightning...?
If it were on the lot it would be different?
He is saying this is direct from FORD!?

Anyone else run into this?
We are a bit dissapointed, and now are thinking if we sell our 2000, we won't be getting a new one...
Pretty dissapointed in FORD's own plan...

They are full of it. It is solely up to the individual dealership whether they do A plan and X plan. Which dealership did you go through? I found my 2001 at Bill Alexander Ford down in Yuma using A plan. My wife works for Ford and knows every dealer in town. Give me more details like dealership, salespersons name and so forth. Send me an email if you want and maybe I can help you out. It shouldn't be this difficult.

Kingpin is right. They are trying to screw you or they have someone else to buy it for more than x plan price.

Wow, nice replies already!!
It is Berge Ford in Mesa, I was thinking of going to Sanderson first, since we kinda know a salesperson over there...
The sales guy at Berge is sorta a friend of the family and he said he is low enough on the totem pole that he couldn't do anything if he tried.
I could get names if you think it will make a diff. but I think I will maybe try a different dealer first...

Thanks for the help already!

The EAA should be emailing you with your member # within the next 48 hours. After that, just log-on and get your pin from the link on the EAA site. Happy hunting
