There has been ANOTHER jet crash up here in NY. I heard it's an American Airlines jet. Many building on fire!

CNN just reported that it was AA Flight 587 (an Airbus A300) leaving JFK on its way to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic...I think that's what they said.

 

Associated Press just confirmed that information. Thanks.

 

246 passengers on board, 9 crew. I have CNN on in the other room, so I will post confirmed updates as I hear them. (source was the Port Authority)

People are saying it was an explosion, one of the engines fell off.

 

Lots of B.S. on CNN so far. They interviewed some guy claiming to be an Airline Captain that didn't know squat about an Airbus. Just to let you know that listening this early to the Media is very misleading.

Being born and partially raised in Queens, I must say this hits home way too hard...again. My mother was able to reach our family in Queens, and luckily they are all safe.
