Bassani Catback.

In your opinion, is it worth it to get the whole bassani setup(headers to tips) or should I just go with the cat back from JL? I have heard that the headers are mostly for sound but could be wrong. If they are just for sound, is there a big difference between either setup. If they are not just for sound, how much hp/tq do they give you. The complete system is a little more than double the amount of just the cat back, is it worth it?

thanks

IMHO...don't wast your money on the whole Bassani system. I was one of the first to do this and the only part of the Bassani left are the headers and the x portion of the catback. The cats went bad, one was empty and the other was blocked 100%, and I had to replace them. The mufflers were full of all the blown catalyst and sounded like ***** so I replaced those as well. Go with just a cat-back from someone. BTW...many people including myself have dyno tested various exhaust systems and I as far as I know none of the give any appreciable gains. The only exception I have seen to this is someone on here is running Longtube headers and I think they did pick up som real power..not sure though.

Good luck either way,

I ran with Rusty

Fri nite in his 99/00(?) L with the full Bassani system. He's had it for sometime(?) and doesn't like it. It sure sounds 'mean'. He kept 'brappin' it to my left as we waited to make a 1/4 mile pass. I can't decide which way to go myself but I think I 'need' some exhaust upgrade.
