Sunday at Norwalk

First want to say it was great talking with all the guys that showed up today! I didn't get all the names but, you are a great group.
Like to also add that I joined the 12 sec club!
Of the 3 runs made today.....I ran a best of 12.85. It was quite cool today also, around 40-45*. Another run was 12.90, both on the same chip, X-1 . On the third run I did a 12.94 on chip X-2. The first chip gave me a prob. at my shift points and stumbed but recovered. I am sure that I could have hit a solid 12.80 if it didn't do it.

BTW- This was done with stock pulleys, chip(s), Oval TB and cone filter w/ram air hose. .and Drag radials, if they count.
Another guy was getting 1.70's on his F-1s. The best I could get on the BF's was 1.84

Thumbs up Way to go

PFA congratts on getting into the 12's

The chip that was stumbling how many miles was it in the truck, sometimes it takes the proccesor a while to adjust to the chip.

I wish I couls have run today we had great air, but our track closed for the season the other weekend.

Hey Don, Thanks!
It had been in the L for about 500 miles. Never really did this before with this chip. I did have the 16" bf's on there though. I would have thought that those would have made it shift sooner though. When it shifted, it was touching around 5800-6000 RPMs.

what size are the BFG's it sounds like they are a little to short, which may be causing the truck to shift at those higher rpm's. If so I would be carefull that is a little high for my comfort.

I believe they are the 26" ones on 16" wheels. I was under the impression that the trans. would, if anything, shift sooner because of the smaller diameter of tire spinning faster.

HEY PFA

Nice runs yesterday.
Sorry I didn't get more time to stick around and try another
set up on the snubber. I got real greedy on my 2nd pass and
cranked it down against the 3rd member, then took the motor
up to about 1900 rpm's, and the rest you know. I lost 3
tenths and the f%^*$% R/T in the other lane runs a 12.96!!!
Oh well, more testing next weekend at 42 if the weather holds.
It was really nice to see all the other L's that showed up.
Once again, nice runs, and the position at Dearborn was brought
up again this morning. Don't really want to leave here.

Marc

i too was at norwalk sunday (for the 1st time) and i don't think i'll be going back anytime soon! it was good to see all those L's out there. too bad the guy feeding the starting line doesn't have a clue on how to run a track. the track itself is gorgeous but when it takes 4 1/2 hours to get 2 runs in.... THAT SUCKS!!! test and tune? i don't think so! i didn't have one opportunity to read the track conditions or the adjustments to my L. and all that for only a 5 hr. round trip!! from what i could tell, i certainly wasn't alone in my attitude. sorry for the neg post but i just had to vent........jack

PFA. Wayne, congrads on your 12 second runs.I wish I could have made it. The track must have been hooking pretty good for those 60 foot times! The best 60 ft times I could get the last time I was there were in the 2.0s on F1s.

Good job PFA!!

Norwalk is a kick *** track although it sounds as if they hired Gomer to run the lanes.

Thanks guys
The track was hooking pretty good. There were alot of breakdowns. It did seem like the slick tired guys got more runs in. Milan Dragway is no better, probably worse! It took me 1hour and 45 min. to get there from Belleville, a little speeding but not much.

Marc--I hope you get to a plant within Ford that will stay and not turn to V! They seem to be going through the sal. guys pretty fast and replacing them with much less paid people. Good luck on your decision.

I still can't believe I made it to the 12's without a pulley! SWEET!

Hey PFA, thanks, but I will ride this place out. I have some
really great employees and I will not bail out on them!!

The scenerio was the same for me Sunday, 12.97 1st run and
then wait several hours while the SLICK cars run, then its
back to the 13's....
No matter what track you go to , they cater to the SLICK
cars. It really don't make and sense to me. The track knows
those guys will always be there, so why not treat the street
tired guys a little better so we will come back ?

Hope to run into some of you guys again.

Marc

i was a slick tired guy and got only 2 runs in 4 1/2 hrs! it was the faster rods in the last 4 lanes that got all the runs!! one guy ran 3 times in the lane next to me and almost ran another before i ever got a shot. i'm pretty sure we all pay the same money to run, don't we? for those who enjoy racing it was a real bummer!!
