Friendly Family Fight

In a few months the lease will be complete on HER Mercedes 500SL.

I took her to the local Jaguar dealer today to check out their 370Hp Supercharged V8 hot rod. The only one they had was fresh off the truck. They'll have it ready for a test drive Monday.

If SHE goes for it, that will make for an interesting 1/4 mile trip next to my L.

Hmmmmmm.

It's the XKR convertible. Jag is coming out with a XKR100. It's a very limited car to comemorate the company's 100 anniv. They're only making 500 of them and 300 are marked to the US or maybe North America. A mere $98K. Whew.

However, one can purchase the regular XKR for a mere $86K

I must be in the wrong line of work!!!!!!

Pat's '98 Continental is off lease in about 6 weeks and we are looking at the Lincoln LS or the Jaguar equivelant both of which are about $50K south of what you and your bride are looking at.

And I thought $30K for a pickup was a reach!!

Let us know if you do the deal and how you like the Jaguar.

Bill,

I took a new Crown Vic Sport to HER the other day to look at. A fine ride, I thought. But HER? Nooooo.

Anyway, I'm curious how that hot rod cat runs.

L'rod,

That is one long haul to that track. The one in Commerce is half the distance but it has already closed for the season.

My son leaves for a weekender Friday. I'll try and pull it off.
So much to do. So little time.
