Little plastic peice on gear selector broke off!!!

That little round plastic peace at the end of the gear selector by the overdrive button broke off today when I put it in park. All the little brackets came off too!!! Cheap thing!!!! Has this happened to any one else? Will Ford cover it under my warranty for being such a cheap peice of crap?

Does anyone have the website where they have the billet aluminum replacements for those?

I don't have the website, but you will have to get the handle fixed first. I saw one of them a E-Town and it looked pritty cool.
That should be covered under warrantee

Mine popped of the other day as well (one catch leg broken). Cleaned it real good with some rubbing alcohol, applied a very thin bead of black silicone to the sealing edge and reattached it. Solid as rock and looks better than new (and a hell of a lot stronger).

Cool

HI!.... Mine broke off about 3 weeks ago when I was trying to fix my broken overdrive switch. One of the mechanics at my dealer told me once they go one they are designed to break if tried to remove. It's a one time thing. You can tell there junk. My dealer had over 400 in stock. About $7.00(CAN)!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a fleet of Ford service vans where I work(A/C trucks). They all come off.A little superglue will do the trick. The F-250 vans with the Tritons are really good trucks by the way.

Gear selector end piece

My plastic end piece broke off of my '98 a couple of months ago. The Ford service guy sold me a new one for about $10.00, and advised Ford had redone them to be a little stronger. The new one was better than the old, but... still cheap.

Mine has come off a couple of times. My dealer always replaces it no charge on my regular service visits.

I've never had to ask, they just put a new one on.
