Why Doesn't This Work??
With the truck off, i unplugged the plug on my inner cooler pump behind the lower bumper cover. I then ran a wire from the pos. terminal on the battery to the pos. post on the pump, and then ran a wire from ground to ground on pump. I did this as a test. The pump did not come on or run. Why not. I only left wires plugged on for a second, as i didn't want to burn anything up incase this was wrong.
Why didn't it work?

If you ran wires direct to the battery and the pump, the only way it shouldn't work is if you didn't have a good connection at the battery or the pump terminals. I would guess that you didn't get a good ground. To check to see if you are getting power through the wires you can stick the wires on your tongue just like you would test a 9v battery...

What fuse? The connection was direct from bat to pump, no fuse. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work either. OH wait, could be there's a fuse in the pump? Maybe the pump gets a second signal from some type of thermostat to kick on?

Supplied power to the pump by finding a source that was hot all the time (with key off). I used the positive terminal on the starter solenoid. Just disconnected the battery and removed the nut and connected the wire to that terminal. Then a hole was made in the cover that covers the starter solenoid, installed the switch. Connected the wire that I installed to the starter solenoid to one side of the switch and ran a wire to the pump. I connected it close to the pump on the colored wire (don't remember what color and can't check because truck is in shop getting a new motor.) It looks to me that they have some type of heat device (a ceramic piece connected to the pump) I connected the power in front of that so that if this was the case it would be bypased. I know my instructions are very cryptic so if you have any questions let me know.
