This is a picture of the nothern lights that were out Monday night.
I have lived in Alaska all my life and have seen them multi-color, but they were RED, really unusual. It looked like fire behind the snow covered mountains, beautiful, but very strange. Guess they were visible all the way down to Georgia. This picture was taken in Anchorage. Anybody else see them?

An Aggie frined of mine from Grayling, AK made a post on another BBS about them the other day. I'll have to add your picture over there and see what people think. Man, I'd love to visit Alaska some day.

I saw them here on Monday night! I Planned a trip to Canada to see them with the boys, I loved the fact that I saved myself 4 days travel time! The lights came to me! All red streaks, no green.
I live 20 miles North of Philadelphia (Jamison,PA). This was one of the coolest sights I've ever seen!

I saw them down here in Ga. Pretty cool, haven't seen anything like that before. I saw them at about 10. They kepts getting stronger, brighter, then fading away and come back again. Cool stuff. I was having a hard time explaining them, I was trying to think of something else it could be, smoke reflecting wierd light off the ground, but it was straight north and kept fading in and out.
