boost bypass kit

i was checking out jdm web page and they seem to sell two things they think you should get along with an intake system,, i was wondering if they were really neccesary,, one is this boost bypass kit, the other is an oil breather cap. First off based on the description i am still not so sure what a boost bypass kit will do for me, and i was wondering if either of those is actually recomended.

~Thanks

here's the jdm webpage with the products i'm talking about listed

The breather cap is a very good thing to get. 1 it helps keep oil out of the intake, and 2 it free's up a little top end power.

The boost bipass kit is good if you are going to race the truck, or if you do a lot of burnouts. It keeps the supercharger from dumping boost.

I have both on my truck, even though I feel the boost bipass is over priced I am glad I have it.

Jims products work great.

You can just unhook the plug, but it can still throw a SES light and a code. It happened to me before, I was lucky there was someone with a code scaneer who read and reset the computer for me.

Look at the pic attached

it is a pic of the boost bipass, if you look in the upper left you can see the plug that you would unplug.

In the ceter right of the pic you can see the boost bipass. It is the pink vacuum line that came out of the factory spot, ubder the earlier plug, not the screw it the pink lines old place.

It does throw a code if you unhook the bypass, but once you plug it in it goes away in the next cycle. I have never seen it throw an SES though.

My has been unplugged for quite some time now, hundreds of starts, and no LIGHTS. BTW, I left it unplugged. Supposedly, unpluging it three times will set the code (I think Lightningtuner stated that?).

I have heard that installing an oil breather cap will set a code because of the change in crankcase pressure. Anyone heard this?

01:

I have had the 'oil breather cap' installed for several thousand miles with no SES light . May want to get a chip tuned for the breather but I don't think it's necessary.

just so everyone knows, you can buy an oil breather cap from PepBoyz or almost any car parts shop for about $8. Not $25 from JDM. I've heard the same thing with not having to get a chip just for the breather. it is a good idea to say "hey I'sa got one on there" if you're getting a chip burned
