Not going to believe this!

I was on my way home from work yesterday and heard something "smacking" the roof of my 01 L. Stopped, got out of the truck and found that the rubber windshield molding (along the top) had come loose and was banging the roof. The ends were still attached, but the center section was completly out. Inserted it back in the groove and all was well. Anyone else had this problem?

It's been reported several times with different 'fixes' recommended.

It most likely won't stay in place for long after putting it back like that (I did the same thing). I used some 3M black trim adhesive and no more problems.

The only problem I've had at that speed is the paint wanting to slid backards.

I've run into the same problem. It comes off in the carwash regularly. I just slide it back on. I'll probably glue it on sooner or later.

When mine came off (<120 MPH), I just used duct tape. Now I wish I had a silver Lightning to match the tape!

Smile Me too!!!!!!

Same thing happened to me, but I was racing a ZR1 Corvette & had just passed him & put about three car lengths on him (I didn't look down, but we were on the highway & I had my foot to the floor for a while) & it started that banging!!! I thought I'd lost a spark plug or worse. Pulled over, looked over the truck & didn't find anything. Drove off & it starts banging again. It sounded like a backfire. Two days later (after I'd changed the plugs out) I see it hang down like that. Took it in & it is fixed.

Mine flew off at high speed. I noted it to the dealer, when I was having my IC replaced. They replaced the entire molding, on warranty.
