When I turn my wheel I hear a noise coming from under the hood. I know Fords have always had noisy power steering pumps, but this noise sounds different. But it almost HAS to be the PS pump. Have any of you guys noticed this? I would just like to find out if this is normal or if I have a problem.

I have noticed a noise also on my 01 it sounds like the power stering pump? and only whe I turn the wheel to the righ at very slow speeds?

 

I have had the same noise from the first day i bought my '99... One of the only problems i have ever had with the truck... I would have Ford replace it but the next one will probably be louder so i will live with it...

my pump is insane loud, I can heard the fluid swishing through as I turn full crank.
