Exclamation Got A Package From Ford Today.

I got a little carboard tube in the mail today from ford that says on the outside. Supercharged. Supercool. The SVT F-150 Lightning. Important information about your vehicle enclosed. And then it has the SVT Center's phone number. Im thinking oh no its the letter from ford voiding my warrenty for all my mods lol. Well i open it up and theres this long scroll type letter that has my truck vin and other info at top and tells me about the intercooler and how i might get a leak and if that happens what to do to get it replaced. It then goes on to say what ford will do for you and that the program is lasting until Sept 30, 02 regardless of miles. It also says if you have paid to have this service done already ford will pay for a full refund. Then on the back it has a diagram of the supercharger and the intercooler in a break away picture showing you what parts are include in the service kit. The parts they show that are in the service kit are the TB Spacer Gasket, upper manifold to supercharger gasket, Upper manifold and intercooler assembly, and Upper manifold to lower manifold gasket. Then it goes on to a FAQ's section and just to say one of the questions it says Q: What is causing this condition? Fords Answer *DRUM ROLL* A: The root cause of this condition is excessive stress on the aluminum extruded intercooler tubes due to heat cycling and the thermal expansion contraction. This causes the intercooler tubes to fatigue and develop a hairline fracture. Well thats fords answer so anyone else get one of these tubes in the mail?? Also included was a little like bottle cooler that has the lightning logo on it and says Supercharged. Supercool. Ford SVT F-150 and then it has SVT's web address and phone number on the back. Well thanks ford for the cooler is that supposed to keep all the lightning owners with leaky intercoolers cool since they are all P!SSED.

Your Silver excellence, two or three prior posts on the same subject, my oh my oh my! I am shocked. You should issue 10 demerits on the spot to all posters on this thread. And let it be known throughout all the realm that is f150, that all re-posters shall be floged until dead and then nailed to a cross to face the public humility that they so richly deserve.

Good luck.

The thought police shall be with you!

Yours ever so sincerely,
Sherrif Jhon of Knotingham

I got my truck at All American in Hackensack but im not taking it there. My firend knows the service manager at Wayne where he got his 99 and 01 from and he already talked to him about my truck and he said ok.

Thumbs up

my 99 has never leaked, but i noticed a few drops dripping from the bottom of the 01 drink holder the other day. my question is: do i bring this up to the tech before he swaps my perfectly good supercharger/intercooler assy, or handle it as a seperate incident. one other thing, since the supercharged/supercool drink holder is a 01 item, what are my chances of a complimentary loaner.

The "information age" has again proved its worth. From the proliferation of information to and from the masses....input/output we have socialized for change...and thats a fact jack

My "sixth sense gut reaction"... John C. prolly got all pissed when someone posted that diaper pic....second..from what I hear outta detroit he was not a happy camper...and was looking for heads to roll over the 2nd SVT incident (Cobra #1) ......now that Nasser is out...you get drink holders....tubes...etc...the winds of change...

ONLY IN THE GOOD OL' USOF A!!!

HEY OSAMA....**** YOU WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE...WIMP
