Where to buy slicks.

Im lookin to buy a set of slicks and rims. I have no idea what rims to get, what slicks to get, and where to get them. From what I have seen and heard most people are using Mickey Thompson slicks. If anyone can give me a web site or someones email adress that can get me slicks and rims that would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
joe santana

I bought mine from Jegs also because they said they match compounds in the warehouse to make sure both are from the same lot. Both slicks should have the same tackiness that way.

My rims are American Racing Bajas. They are very light and the M/T ET streets come in a 26X11.5X16. That is the size you want.

You can get the rims from any American Racing dealer(Merchant's Tire).

Lightbulb

Jegs price on the slicks were the same as Summits but Jegs had free shipping.

26X11.5X16 on the tires.

16" rims, 8" or 10" wide, and a 5X135mm bolt pattern.

Also need lug nuts, 12mm(torque to 100 ft lbs) for '99 and 14mm(torque to 150 ft lbs) for '00&'01.

Question Rims

What are the performance aspects of a 16x8 as opposed to a 16x10 rim. If we are putting the same size 26x11.5x16 tire on it does it matter which size we get.

Thanks....Joe

I have a set of 16 inch rims and E.T. streets 11.5x26x16 for sale.

200 bucks plud shipping and there all yours. I have about 10 passes on them. The rims have been painted silver to match the front stock rims also.

soap: M/T recomends anywhere from 8 to 10 inch rims. from what I have read, the 16x8 rims will require less air pressure than the 16x10 because of the "concave" (?) surface of the 'unmounted' tire.....8 inch will make the tires make full contact w/ less pressure. Less psi, more 'give' and traction. I'm sure that both would work fine, its about 50/50 from what I've read. I have the 16x8's and they run great.

thanks for all of the info guys. I went to american racing's web site and found the baja rim. 172-6835, is the model number of the one I want?
Anyone know of a good, cheap web site that I can buy these rims off of?
As for the tires, on jegs model number is 672-3753, correct?

Jegs M/T Page

American Racing's Baja Wheel Page

thanks again
joe santana

P.S.
This may be a stupid question but when it comes to slicks i know practically nothing. Are the M/T E/T Streets street legal?
