Which upper pulley would you buy today and from whom?

hello everyone, I am going to go ahead and buy an upper pulley for my 01. I'm not looking for opinions on if they are safe or if they work.

I just want to know who has the best (quality of materials & ease of installation) kit on the market?

also who has the best prices?

I understand that there are AT LEAST two on the market, ASP and Metco? are there others, and who sells what products. And which one is the "dial-a-boost"?

If you had to buy one today, which one would it be and from whom?

yes I already did a search.

any input is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
chris haynie

don't get the asp pulley you have to machine your snout so it will fit besides once its on its on. if you get the metco from jdm this is fully swappable. the kit comes with the stock dia. pulley and the smaller one of your choice plus it comes with the adapter so if you want to put the stock dia. one back on all you need to do is loosen four allen bolts and your done price is more but well worthit. quality is great and when combined with a 4# lower and a hot program you will be very happy. i have the asp pulley if you want it bot i dont think its worth it at all.

JUST MY $.02

The ASP upper does not require grinding the snout. The pulley sold by Sean Hyland requires grinding of the snout. However both of those pulleys are the soild one piece design. I think if I were to do an upper pulley I'd got with the changeable style, and both ASP and Metco make them.

Call Metco and order it direct:

www.metco-inc.com

Ask them about their true 8" lower pulley as well.

I made a mistake about the ASP changeable pulley. They DO make it, but they don't sell it; it's made by ASP for another company. Get one from Metco.

I had the Dial UR Boost (available from south florida pulley hq) on my GTP. It's a good unit, good materials. Didn't have any problems with it in 10k miles i owned it. I am unfamiliar with this metco unit, but it sounds to be a simliar device. I can speak for the DUB as I owned one.

If you don't know what it is, it's a blower pulley with a hub and interchangeable pullies. As with ALL press on pullies, doing the hub requires a special tool. Do not use standard pulley pullers or steering wheel pullers, you will be sorry.

Ok, so Dial-a-Boost (or Dial-ur-Boost) is a seperate setup from both Metco and ASP?

How do I get in touch with these people? South Florida Pulley HQ that is?

I believe they buy their pulleys from Metco. Call Metco and ask them.

ASP makes the South Florida Pulley version for them. Both that one and the Metco are the same thing, just made by different companies.
