Above average track prep? Low altitude? Tailwind?

Just guessing...

Oh, one of my case points on this matter:

Mike Smith's '98 Cobra runs 13.08 @ 106.57 Off the Showroom w/ only 267rwhp! Read about it here!

I mean, people that go to Cecil actually run some unheard of times vs. other tracks. It's been this way in the last few years.

I also think that the elevation at the end of 1320 is lower than at the tree...

As someone who's raced there, here's my take on it..

1. The track is in a valley (I think) and is at or below sea level.

2. The air is awesome, I have seen over 32 barometric pressure there at times.

3. The track prep is phenominal. They spray out to the 1/8 mile. We got our best 60fts with our 99 test truck there. Haven't run the 01 there yet, but dying too.

Reasons 1 and 2 increase power and reason 3 gives better 60fts, all of which equal awesome performance.

Is it possible that Cecil is better than HRP? That track is suppose to be the best in the country as far as yielding the best times....interesting.

I run the same times at Englishtown as I do at Cecil with the same conditions. I have even run worse times at Cecil. We race a lot at Cecil (JL, Totaled, etc.), that's why are fastest times are at Cecil. Sometimes there's a tailwind, sometimes a crosswind, sometimes a headwind. Who can predict the way the wind blows, they never move the drag strip away from the direction of the wind and it's definitely not in a valley. I raced my other cars at Cecil and they never seemed any faster there than any other track.

One thing I can say is the track is not prepped hardly at all for Friday nights. Sat. events are prepped better because the street cars don't carry the VHT away and water down the track.

I have raced my truck at 75/80,Mason Dixon and Cecil.I run almost exactly the same at either track.60 fts are usually more consistant at Cecil though.Their track prep is second to none.
