I took my wife to a dealer to show her a black Lightning, (but they had sold it). So we looked at a red 01, with about 14K miles for $25,000.

I asked the salesman if they were taking orders for the 02 now, he said that they haven't taken any yet, but the 02 would be out at the end of Dec, first of Jan? I thought it was going to be about April when they are in dealers' showrooms.

If you ordered an 02 when did they say it would be in?

I also looked at an Expedition in the True Blue color, can anyone say Bass Boat?


BTW Speedin Bob: I told your dealer that I would need more out of my truck, and never heard from them. So I called them, they said it's sold now.

 

I doubt if you will see a new 02 in december because the 99-00 and 01 never hit the showrooms until late february to early march at the earliest!

Hey High Roller - Weren't there just a few of the 01s built/delivered just before Ford did their annual holiday shutdown last year?

 

I know there was talk about production in december for the 01's but i am pretty sure it was delayed until mid january.I remember on the nloc board last winter that the first 01 anyone got was in late february.I may be wrong but i wouldn't get my hopes up for a early release on a 02.

your memory is correct. We began seeing posts mid to late February as people began getting their 01's. I think I also remember posts where folks indicated their dealers saying December/January for delivery. So, sounds like the same ole line.

 

My dealer said, "you will get your L in late Jan, early feb". I didn't see mine till 3/15/01. That 2 month wait almost killed me!
