Going To The Track
Going To The Track
I am going to the track saturday night and want to get the best time possible. This is my first time to the track so what I am asking is:
A) Is a burnout really needed? If so how exactly do you get the best burnout?
B) What PSI should I have my stock f1's at?
C) When I pull Up to the line, what is the best way to get a good jump?
D) Any other tips will help!!!

personally
i do just a little bit of a burn out, just enough to get a little smoke going. don't drive through the water unless you are running slicks. i left my f1's at stock psi because i have never had a problem hooking up. the only way i get a good jump is to count when the tree start. 4-3-2-1-go....i try to jump when the last light lights up gives the L about a .6 R/T
turn off everything....air conditioner, radio, etc. i run the heater before the run, windows up.

You don't need to do a huge burn out w/the F1's (I found this out after my first time to the track when I smoked 'em real good) - I've heard that heating them up makes them slip more, so all you need to do is:
Try to avoid the water box, and just do a 1-2 second burnout to clean off you tires
Bring your RPM's up to about 1k after you stage, then when you see the 3rd yellow, PRESS (dont stab) the throttle to the floor...then hold on
I've only done it 4 times, so if anyone else that has more experience and tells you something different, do what they say
