Arrow Need instructions for Factory_Tech Valve Body

Can anyone email me the installation instructions for the Factory Tech valve body (purchased from PSP)? I tore the house inside out but can't find it.

Jupiterak@excite.com

Thanks
Bill

it's pretty simple really, just drop the pan, unbolt the accumulator body (the one at the very front) that looks just like the PSP/Factory Tech part that you bought. I think it has about 8 or 10 8mm bolts and two studs with 10mm nuts. drop the old accumulator body down and bolt the new one back up. start tightning the bolts from the center and work your way out to the edges. proper torque is 80inch/lbs. now would also be a good time to pull the little plug in the bellhousing and drain the torque converter, and also swap in a 4x4 pan and filter.

hope this helps.

good luck,
chris haynie

if you are putting in a 4x4 pan then punch a hole (carefully) in your stock pan to drain the fluid. It will really reduce the mess.

When ypu drop your old valve body keep an eye open for the little screen filter that is on top the valve body and goes into the bottom of the tranny. Mine dropped down on top of the valve body/gasket when I removed it. It's no big thing to put back but just keep an eye open for it. Jeff

Thumbs up Thanks guys

I lost the instructions and didn't know what the valve body torque specs were. So I snug the bolts very tight. I probably torque them to 15-20 ft. lbs. After installing the FT valve body, my truck would stall on Reverse. I then reinstalled the original valve body and had more problems. It now stalls in Reverse, 1st and 2nd. It doesn't do it all the time, maybe 1 in 3 times. So I think maybe the overtightened bolts is causing problems? Does this sound possible??

15/20 ft lbs is WAY too much. 80 inch pounds is 5 ft lbs. Time to drop the pan. Good luck...

JeffsLightning- Thanks. I think overtighting the valve plates is causing the stalling. Oh well, time to drop the pan again.
