Maybe someone can explain to me how you can adjust the boost actuator to gain 1# of boost? I think someone does not exactly know the function of that bypass valve. The only way you can gain any boost is if your actuator arm is not allowing the butterfly to close completely. Jeff

Ted there is no way you could of gain 4#'s of boost by adjusting that arm. That is unless the butterfly was staying open half way when your engine vacuum went to zero. Most L's will see 10 psi in got weather depending on their stock gage. 6 or 7 is not the norm. Your boost bypass must have been WAY off of adjustment from the factory.

One last time: Adjusting this actuator does NOT give you ANY increase or decrease in boost by itself. ONLY if your actuator was off from the factory not allowing your valve to close completely, and that sounds like the case for a couple of you.

Doing this mod, though, can help your boost come on sooner.

Ok, I got it to stop serging and sounding funny. Man that isnt worth the hassle. Right off the line I am at about 10.5 and then it goes on over towards the tach. I cant remember what I had off the line before but it feels pretty good. I will play with it again once I get a bigger boost gauge!! But going up killed mine!!! I had to go down!!!!

ICULOKN Your problem is from the boost valve sticking closed from adjusting it to high. The same thing happened to me. The valve will slam shut to far if the arm doesn't make contact making the valve stick.
