Installed the chrome speed grills

Well I got off my **** last night and did it.

I didn't know that you where supposed to use the stock grills for a mount with these but I didn't use them HEHEEHEHE.

I think the top piece could have fit a little better, but the bottom was awesome. I only used a few ties to hold it in and it was snug as a bug.

As for the overall look of the chrome Vs. the satin, I like it. I wouldn't think it would look good without the chrome wheels though. The grills are really shiny and look killa in there now. The install took me about and hour and a half to do , but I got some experience with removing the shells and grills.

I'll have some pics tommorrow for you guys wanting to see them in the truck. I didn't have the digital camera with me, so I'm driving my baby to the office to take some friday.

Later.

Joe:

You're right about the fit without the stock grill in there. I actually spread the L/R edges flat to fill the spaces.

Can't wait to see them on your truck since our's look so much alike...

Question

RTKILLA
Do the chrome speed grills come with a cut out for the ford logo? I switched from the 00 honeycomb grills to the 01 grills and i have the ford light up logos front and back installed. I like the look of the billet grills but they dont come with a spot for the logo and i like the logos there especially at nite. So just wanna know if the speed grills come with a spot for the logo? I cant wait to see the pics of the truck with them on there.

There's no spot for them but you can just install the logo over the grill. thats what I did with my glowing ford logo.

Its really easy to do so I wouldn't worry about it.

Rich: I spread the edges a little too myself. And screw those clips, sip ties did the trick. I just tightened them on each side a little get it right. What did you use for the ram air vents. I was going to call up today and order the cheapest chrome grill they had and then just cut it to fit and screw it in there.

If you ordered satin, I'd split the cost with you.
Still need to do mine with that material.

I found some wire mesh at HomeDepot that almost matches.

There is actually another company that sells the same material. I'll see if I can find their website again.

They have no specific place but the design of the grille allows you to mount the logo back on in the stock or any location.

Gee lets all post together

Rich I think if we got the grand prix front grill its would be enough to do the holes and be cheap. I'll check around today too!
