Anyone from the Austin area?
Anyone from the Austin area?
Looks like I will be relocating to the Austin area in the next 6 months or so.
I am looking for some info on the area on the web. I have never been there and I don't know how cold it can get there in the winter. Anything will be a help.
Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom, the Austin aera is great (just ask the 100 families a month that move here). It is HOT AS HELL in the summer but some winters we don't even get a freeze! Also our traffic is some of the worst in the coutry. The tree huggers (and we have lots of them) run the city of Austin. A bunch of left over from the sixties hippies. But if you can live and work in the surrounding towns you will be ok. Just don't tell anyone else how good it is here!!!!!!!!

Hi Jerry,
This is for my wifes job, her office will be near Semitech, AMD and Motorola on Directors Blvd. I am hoping to not live in a development. I would like a more rural setting. She has been told to avoid the northern areas. As far as the tree huggers ect... we lived in Vermont for 3 years (plenty of them up there). I can take the heat but I don't want cold any more! The last 5.5 years in Fl have been just fine! I have seen the traffic get pretty bad in the last few years here, so I don't think that can be avoided.
Thanks for the reply! I might get up there near the first of the year to snoop around.
