Shaving the antenna?

I was just wondering if any of you guys have done this to your trucks. I rarely listen to the radio in my truck so the antenna's going to go for the overall better apearence of the truck.

I was going to just remove it and then weld a new piece under it and then fill in the gap with some bondo or something. Any suggestions. I'm by no means a body man so I have no clue?

Anybody got some pics.

Thats the first thing that i said ford should have done when i saw the truck shave that antenna. My friend has a 01 gt and it has the running horse in the windshield at the top and it looks like one of those antennas in the windshield. But it not he still has the ugly antenna sticking out. I think that would have looked good on our trucks to have the antenna in the windshield and maybe in the lightning logo like how they put that running horse on the gt's. Ford if you read this for the Gen 3's shave the antenna stick it in the windshield and new color yellow.

I've thought about that too, but I think shaving it would look cleaner, and I think I could find a way to run a wire for a signal up in the head liner somehow to pick up stations if I had too.

I like the windsheild Idea, I had that on my grand prix. It was nice.

I leave mine off almost all the time anyway. It'd be excellent to get rid of the base in the fender.

Thumbs up

A 2000 Eddie Bauer Expedition has no antenna provision. It's in the glass. Buy a fender from that truck paint it and bolt it on. If you're not good at body work like this don't even try it or you'll end up spending twice as much on fixing your wavy fender.
