Computer Chip needed for higher Boost?

I have been thinking of increasing the boost on my Lightning. With more boost would you need a computer chip upgrade? I have seen several posts here where people have sent chips in to compensate for boost increases. What is done to the chip for the higher boost level? I would think the stock computer would be able to compensate for higher boost at least until you outflow the MAF sensor. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

You should install a chip with a pulley. Air/Fuel ratio's can be adjusted through a custom chip. The MAF may be able to increase fuel enough for a pound or so extra, but if you add a 3-5psi more boost you should get a chip.
