Don, that's a sweet ride, but he'll never pass tech with that wierd roll bar. He's going to have to redo it. The side bars must pass the driver between the shoulder and elbow to be legal. I'm assuming the bars were put that high for easy access into the car, but there's no way in heck a good track would let him run like that. Also, it looks like the main hoop is tilted back slightly, and it must be 90 degrees from the floor. I also don't see a cross brace behind the seat. It's a neat street bar, but they won't let him run with it. Might want to let him know.
Hey Don,
"Sonic Seven" has held up well. Rich built that car ~ 20 years ago. Looks like he updates it though (wheels). I had a brief but fun business relationship with RITOP many years ago. Can't believe he let someone drive it, he's fussy about who he even lets in his garage!

Memories.....!
I was a senior at Miami Senior High(Miami, Florida), when a friend's dad bot him a new 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible--black with red & black interior. I can still 'smell' that new car smell today. It was the first air-conditioned car I had ever ridden in(no children, cars didn't 'always' have 'air') No, I wasn't a 'cliquer', just a friend of the clique.
Thanks for the pics.

Wow, that's an awesome car! It almost looks magazine caliber...does he actually drive that on the street
With such a beautiful body, I'd be worried about rock chips, etc.
Sal's right about the roll bar. What tube chasis did he use?? I've never seen one with such little internal structural support. My guess is 11's. A 9 second car is in a different league, trust me.
I'd be scared *****less if that pulled up to a light next to me. Maybe Eaton could make a blower that sticks throug the hood
. hmmm.....
