Pagin' JayLincoln:

An experienced drag racer was under my L today helping install B/Ts 2" shackles-noticed your Truck-Traks-and said that if I raised the snubbers up to just touching the springs, I would lower my 60' times--it would react quicker??? How say you?

Btw, new best last nite--12.873@106.91 but just a 1.948 for 60'. Your T/Ts helped. Thanks, Dan

What he said is true. I can reduce your reaction times a little. However, it might not hit the tires as hard, or allow the front end to lift as much, increasing the 60' times.

It never hurts to experiment a little. I wouldn't drive on the street with the snubber that close.

I've been testing the Truck Tracs on our mid 11 second test truck, to see just how well they do on a truck making serious power. I have only run them a few times, but we are trying different snubber hieghts and so far they work pretty good. It's just a matter of finding the correct setting for each vehicle. With over an inch of space, the snubbers didn't hit the springs. We closed it up to about 3/4" and the snubbers hit but then unloaded. Now we are going to try about 1/4" and see how they do. Each vehicle will require a different setting, so I suggest getting the optional spacer kit for the snubbers.

Thanks Jay--kinda what I thought.

Thanks Sal--did I read you right?--from 3/4"(where they "hit but unload") to 1/4" clearance--wouldn't they unload even quicker? Btw, mine are at least 'wiping' the road grime off the bottom of the spring--may not be 'hitting' and staying loaded though? Jay already sent me the spacers but I only have the 'big' one on--may add one of the 'shorter' ones/

Thumbs up

Hmmm!!!

Pretty impressive...Sounds like my next mod..Jay Lincoln Truck Tracs..

Thanks Sal for the T&T work for us L owners and giving your unbiased opinions.

With the optional spacer kit for the snubbers, Can I easily change from which spacer I run at the track, to the spacer I want to run on the street..

thanks,
DL

The newest versions have weld nuts to hold the snubbers. It is easier to change them, as no tools are needed to remove or replace.

It shouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes to make a change.
