Just Back From The Track....

Ran the white beast for the first time tonight down the 1/4. Chalk up my 1.140 R/T to nervousness Here's the scoop:

60' 2.236
1/8 9.018
1/4 13.914
MPH 100.28

Couldnt believe it but the truck spun a good 20 feet, maybe 25. I'm thinking it cost me 2 or 3 tenths, maybe more. Oh, temp was about 50 degrees. That's all I have. Was alot of fun and a rush, but had to wait about an hour before my chance and no time to make a second run. My opponent was a new crew-cab Duramax chevy. He had a r/t of .696 and killed me of course off the line. I caught him after I hit second. His time was a 15.6. Pretty good I thought for that huge truck with a passenger.

Frank S,

It was nice meeting you out at the track. I wish I had run my truck tonight, but those lines were terrible. Next time I'll run anyway...

The 13.91 was pretty good, especially with all of the wheel spin off the line. The Lightning turnout was also good, I think there were about 8-10 Gen 2's, maybe more. The times varied from 12.2x's to 16.5x's (don't know what happened to that guy, green means go and go fast ). All and all not a bad night...

Awsome first run Frank. It sounds like you were a little to aggresive off the starting line. It is hard sometimes to resist the urge to really hammer it off the line if your running street tires.

It is allways a rush watchin the opponent fall further and further behind.

Just wait till you line up next to one of your new Lightning buddies, now thats fun.

Frank S - it's nice to know I'm not the only one who can't launch and pulls 2.2 60' times. They say for every 1/10 you knock off your 60's you reduce your 1/4 by 2/10's.

Still very nice times for your first time down the track.

Frank S:

You north GA. guys got to come down to the 1/4 mile track in Reynolds. I got in 9 passes and could have made 2 or 3 more if I had wanted to. Ran four 12 sec. runs.

Only one other L, a 01 White one with 4,000 miles. The guy doesn't get on the net--had two Flowmasters installed with no other mods. I ran a 13.127@106.79 to his 13.728@101.35. Said it was his son's(18 yrs. old?) truck and it was fast enough for him.

There were several ricers, Trans Ams, R/Ts, vettes, and camaros.

Oh, almost forgot--there was a wedding at the 'tree' at 7:15pm--I teared up....LOL.

Brett: was nice meeting you too. Maybe next time we can line up against each other. Be cool to see how much I'd lose to a chipped L.

Don: Yeah I pretty much hammered it off the line. I should've known better because I had just driven around the water and put it down about halfway to clean the tires and it spun a few feet there too. I'll know better next time. I'd really be concerned if I had I chipped L and spun hitting second like alot of you guys talk about, could get hairy.

L-ROD: I actually should've rephrased what I said above. I could've ran one more time but didn't feel like waiting another 45-60 minutes. You got it made at that track in reynolds!

One more thing. I noticed the supercharger was SCREAMING with that cold air last night. I'm guessing it's all the crowd could hear outside Brett?

Frank, 13.9 @ 100mph, that ant bad at all, especially with all the wheel spin you were haveing. The main thing is to just have fun. I ran into the smae problem with the cooler air, when the temp is above 75 and humidity is high I can run my L with no hitch, no spare, and no bed cover. When it cools down I can't run without my 200# bed cover at all and get a 1.9 60'. I even put my spare back in when its going to be in the 50's or lower. It doesn't weigh that much but its way in the back and seems to help quiet a bit. Anyway with the extra weight of my bed cover I can real agressive of the line with good confidence that the F1's are going to Hook.
