Any Police officers that own Ls here?
If so, have you ever pulled over another L for something like, say...speeding and given them a break because you own one too?
just wonderin...

Ha Ha..be nice out there!!
I would hope thee are a few L. owners out there who just happen to be police officers. Love the wise cracks, never heard them before...ya right. I have owned a 94 L. which I got new back in 94 and just sold it a few months ago and picked up an 01 white L. I have been into the "Fast Limited Run" thing for years. I have been a police officer for the last 20 years and have never been without something that could keep up or outrun whatever was on the road. Everything from my first...1968 Hemi Road Runner which I paid for after Vietnam in cash. I think I paid about $4500.00 or close to it. A Dodge Omni Shelby GLHS turbo. A Dodge Shelby Dakota and a few in between. The 01 L. is of course the best so far. Wish I still had the Hemi. As far as pulling over a L. owner for something, it would of course depend on the situation. Being a gearhead myself and understanding what a L. owner means, I would always "Understand" to a point. Ha, you gotta be cool out there, there's a place for everything. If you act like an ahole, well you figure it out.. As far as I know, I seem to be the only cop around these parts with a L. Something seems to be wrong with most cops, all I ever seem to get from them is..Nice truck, what is it. A few weeks ago, I went through the next town from here and knew that a friend of mine had radar set up at a favorite location. I just had to do him being he is a by the book guy. I ran through his location a little on the fast side, maybe 90ish. He flew out after me like a flash. I could just hear him burning up with " F..king punk". When I pulled over, he was fired up. When he saw me, his face was red as a beet and he must have thought he had a real winner here. Of course we had lunch later. Now I owe him in a way. If he ever needs anything, he could always tell my chief I guess. Back to the original question. NO....be cool here and you're ok in my book. Of course I could never catch you in my 01 Crown Vic. (real dog).
Salute ofcgary!
I too returned from Nam and paid ca$h for a brand new '69 Z-28.
That was a real fun car in those days and pretty fast for a 302. It ran 12.90's @ 110mph with only headers, street slicks and 4:88 rear. That was the fastest car in town for a few years, and oh yes, I was a local cop at the time. Traded the Z for a hemi - cuda , which ran 12.00's @ 115 (headers / mild cam). I was still a cop, and my police officer friends thought I was nuts. The local "street racers" thought it was cool as hell though, and I got along great with all of them.
I only wish that the "L" had been available then. I have always owned and driven fast street rides, but the "L" has by far been the most fun.

Speaking of Donuts
We have a new Krispy Kreme opening up here in the northwest and it is turning out to be a really big deal. Its been on the news and it seems like everybody is talking about it. Its almost a big as the Mariners. They have hired off duty police officers to help with the traffic jam keep things under control when they open next tuesday.
So I thought I would ask a true proffesional, Are Krispy Kreme donuts really that good? I mean we need riot control around here.

no mercy list. Just remember you may find yourself driving through N.J. LOL!!!
I own a 99 L and I'm a police officer. Do I cut breaks?? Yes, not just to cool cars, depends on the offense and the drivers attitude. I will talk HP and stuff with anyone though, on or off duty. Pulled a guy over in a 2002 Z06 last night, cut him a break for the red light and talked HP.
I do talk a traffic lights to other L owners, once they know I am a fellow Lightning owner, things are cool.
After all, we are normal people too. We just don't street race, well, as much
LOL
