Clearing ECU stored codes
Is there a way to clear the ECU of a stored code? Removing the battery cable and letting the ECU drain isn't the answer. It seems as if it is storing a code in an EEPROM or a NVRAM area.

Do you turn the head lights on then disconnect the battery? I have heard that this works...I don't know for sure because I don't have a code reader.
