upper pulley help!!!!!

hey i tried to put my upper pulley(metco) on today. got the stock pulley off no prob. But cannot get the hub on. the screw that threads into the blower snout and the big bolt is (was recieved this way) completedly stripped and unusable. also the pictures included with the kit contradict the instruction sheet . the instructions say to put the hub on with white serial numbers facing out but the picturers show it beoing pressed on with the flat side facing out. which way does it go? the screw that is stripped what exactly is it called and what are the sizes on both sides so i can go buy another
thanks
erich

The lettering faces outwards toward the front of the truck. DO NOT press it on with the flat side facing forward, it will be a bitch to get off!!! I also used some anti-sieze(spelling?) on the blower shaft when pressing on the hub. It makes it easier to press on and it will make it easier to pull off if need be. Not sure what to tell you on the stripped bolt. Take it to a hardware, fastner, etc. store and see if they can match it up. Hope this helps.

the serial nubers face out. And the bolt being stripped on the end of the main shaft is no biggy. You're going to be using a pair of vice grips on it anyhow.

skank dog- the flat doesn't face the front of the truck?

that is the way i put mine on, seemed like hub curved to the snout& the pulley would fasten to the flat part of the hub better.
it is in line with the other pulleys and has been on for over a week with no problem.

i recieved no insructions with mine so... i followed these photos and what made sense to me.

I must apologize for the discrepencies with the pictures and the instructions. I am the one who wrote them and took the pictures. I messed up the first time becuase I did not have instructions to go by, and went by someone else's pictures. The written instructions are the correct ones. I had the hub on back wards and believe me, it was a bitch removing it.

SO SERIAL NUBERS OUT!!!!!!

if you guys have any questions email me. I've done the install twice now and have the process memorized.

ouch i put mine on last week-backwards.

it works okay and is inline with the other pulleys

evilguy- did it cause you any problems being on backward?

im not sure if i want to take that off again, won't it damage the hub?

plus it was a pain in the ***, i broke one puller then took a drill and dremel tool to it to release some of the pressure from the original pulley! then used a second puller.
