Lightbulb Calling kidd2001/mhussey

I saw your plea for speaker info, I hope this helps....

As taken from 2000 Ford wiring book:

16 pin connector at back of HU

#5 RR Orange/Red +
#6 RR Brown/Pink -
#7 RF White/Light Green +
#8 RF Dark Green/Orange -
#12 LR Gray/Light Blue +
#13 LR Tan/Yellow -
#14 LF Orange/Light Green +
#15 LF Light Blue/White -

Note: First color is the base color, second is the stripe.

I am certain that it is the same for 2001 F150 W/CD.

Hope this helps you guys out!!

Thanks...

I have figured out were the speaker wires are (they do not come to the plug that plugs into the HU). They are coming out of a device that looks like a factory amp. Don't think I have premium system, could that be an amp??? Will I run into trouble if I connect LLC to speaker wires after what looks like/and if it is, an amp?? Also posted under amp section. Any help will be appreciated.

I also have a post from HELLOE, who has a 2001 150 scab (with premium and 6 changer) and he lists same wire colors as you, (except that he lists + where you list -). I hear that ford is known to make changes year to year. Thanks for the post though.

kidd2001, I'll check it out when I go back to work. I took the info that I posted right from a Ford wiring book. I doubt seriously that it is different as that would create unique radios between model years (Ford hates to do that) You have my curiosity though. Mhussey, I'll see if I can find a wiring book for 1997.
