Probelms with bassani looks promissing!

Well I wrote bassani an e-mail again last night because I'm on my second set of cats and there going bad again on me. So I asked them what to do in more then one way and this is the response I got this morning.

apologies for the problems with your catalytic converters, you are not the
only customer that has had this problem. We will be glad to send you a set
of new pipes, ASAP. The problem lies with the manufacturer of the Catalytic
converters. They cut the size of the catalyst within the cat down one inch,
unbeknownst to us. So now we have revised our 99-01 Lightning cat pipes
with small round cats that we have had no problems with. Again our
sincerest apologies. We Will be glad to resolve this problem, again
warranty is only for the product. Please contact us directly or email your
information to rtorres@bassani.com <mailto:rtorres@bassani.com>

Thank you,
Todd O'neill

Wow Un F'**ckin Believable

RT I am stoked you got a responce like that.

This can't be the same Bassani company that I had all kinds of problems with on my 99. Maybee they have been reading the message boards and decided to start treating customers correctly. I sure hope so they sure treated me like dog cakka.

I will be interested to see if they do make good on their offer and send you some new cats.

I had the same problem with my bassani cats. I shipped them my old cats and pipes back. They sent my back a set of brand new pipes, with the new round cat, I received them about a week ago, I plan on putting them on this weekend. I'll try to post a picture tonight.

Round cats?

I wonder if there going to be more restrictive then the other cats.

I just really hate having to take those damn cats off the truck. There such a pain in the a$$ cause after you do that you have make sure the tips are in the right place and then put everything back together.

I hope bassani knows that I'm not going to show any mercy when it comes time to get these old cats off. I'll beat the hell out of them to get them off . If anything atleast its a good time to check out the underside of the truck and make sure everything is OK.

I sent my pipe back and recieved the new smaller round ones. They are louder than the original ones I installed. ET's remained about the same.

Gee's,
Wonder if they will grandfather these cats back a year ago when I was told in so many words by them to "Take them off and send them back for them to look at!!! But it's most liely the chip making the engine run "TOO LEAN", that burned out the cats" So I suppose my Lightning should stay in the garage with the exaust torn apart waitng on them?
Wonder how many people really did this??????
Maybe I could get the $370.00 it cost me, back, to put 2 High-Flow cats on. Fat chance!!!

I have had my bassnai system for almost 2 years. They replaced my cats without any question. They should take care of you.

Dan,

that is exactly what I went through. They claimed I was the only Lightning to have this problem. They were the worst company I ever dealt with. Liars.

99 Lightning,

Just knock on the Cats. Mine sounded like the entire insides had come apart.

I know Mark at Lightningforce Performance carries them at a great price and I do believe that there are many happy customers with him.

Try him at UNI4MONEY@aol.com

My cats were replaced at 8k miles in March. I had to send them back to prove they were bad. They were replaced for free with the same larger units. Second set has not failed. At first I got attitude on the phone. Sal told me to speak to Todd and thereafter everything was fine.
