Question Excessive Front Tire Wear on the Inside?

Hey....

I am having some real bad inside tire wear on my '99 L on the front tires.

I've also noticed that the front suspension doesn't like to hold an alignment very well.

I'm assuming these are related... I never noticed the problem until I had a knock fixed by some morons at Apple Ford in Columbia, MD.
These guys took SIX trips to actually fix my leaking intercooler instead of changing the lower radiator hose (3 times) even though I told them exactly what they should be checking. They also bent the bumper up and said they didn't do it......

Anyways... Engough griping.....
Could it be that they screwed up something in my suspension? Or is it just that I may need to keep a higher pressure in my front tires? Any ideas?

Wink

When this happened to me it was partly because of the way the alignment is set up for cornering but also because i was running 35-40 lbs at the strip and forgetting to air down the fronts.Mine looked to have 12-15k or more left on them until the wheel was cranked and you find that last 10% of inner tire surface cupped and worn. This probably does not help with your situation but this same thing has happened to others and it seems to me that some got there dealer to either give them new tires for half price or free, depending on how many miles they had on there L.You may want to do a search on this as it hasn't been posted about lately.

The cure: Herb washers and a professional (non-dealership) alignment.

Question

I'm a little confused after looking up herb washers.
Do I need to get herb washers AND cam bolts to fix it or just herb washers?

Herb's washers positively locate the lower control arms. The cam bolts allow a proper alignment after Herb's washers are installed.

I just took my rims off two days ago and i have the same problem I was just gonna go to the dealer and put up a stink and make a scene and maybe if i cry enuff they might give me new tires... or they might just tell me that they fix the problem, aligned the truck and wrote me a bill to match the amount of smoke that they were trying to blow up my ***
Let me know how Herbs washers work out cause I need the truck aligned w/the new 20's anyway!!

I don't have tire wear, but I do have tire chop. Tire chop is when each tire tread on the inside of the tire is raised up and when you drive you hear a whom-whom sound. I don't think it is a broken belt because these bumps are on each inside tread on both tires.

I was told to get the herb washers and rotate the tires.
