Yeehaaaa(Rebel yell)-just turned a '1,000' and A 12!

At 9:55pm tonight, at Silver Dollar Raceway, I ran my first '12'. It was 58 degrees, slight head-wind, 50% humidity, and 30" b/p--my 6th pass. Jerry(races a WS6Turbo) grabbed his digital camera and took a pic of the time slip--he's going to email it to me and then I've got to figure out how to post it later.

r/t............... .743(ugh!)
60'............. 1.882*
1/8............. 8.251
mph.......... 84.930
1/4............ 12.882*
mph......... 106.180

Note the 60' and 1/4 similarity. No ice, 20 min. cooldown--what made the difference(besides the temp.) was I finally got a 'long' burnout(5 secs.?) and it launched.

The mods were: JL's chip, RamAir, 3# pulley, Mark's th/body & oil breather, Jay's Truk-Tracks, M/T ET Streets(16psi), Royal Purple #11(5w20) Syn. Race Oil(with DynoSurge metal treatment added), and the boost dump disconnected.

Thank you everybody for the help and encouragement--I thought I'd never make it!

Corner/Carver--where are youuuu?

Dan

Congratulations Dan.

I hope the Truck-Traks helped. I was able to run some 60' times in the same range as you last night. Maybe I'll get there someday.

C/C:

Been waitin' to hear from you--if you'd quit messin' around with installin windshields, g/f, and fancy lookin' geegaws, you could(might0 get some 'serious' stuff(12s) done! J/K'n.

Man, what a rush--if 'felt' different--quicker--you'll love it when it happens. Got any questions, just ask 'this ol' fart'. LOL!

You going this weekend? Now you can try some different launch rpms since you've figured out how to get the ET tires to launch for ya. I may go but I doubt I'll be able to as I have lots of work to do this week. Dont think that you accomplished a minor feat as you dont see a many cars run 12s and lower in our lanes. Every track is different and your time was great for that track. Many would come there and get their feelings hurt after running where we get NO track prep.

Thumbs up Re: C/C:

Hey LIGHTNINROD:

Congrats on getting in the 12's...

I knew you would get there....

Heard a lot of good things about Jay's Truk-Tracks from Sal of PSP this past weekend at Englishtown, NJ. He had some pretty good 60' times using Jay's.
