Unhappy A scary screech?

What is this!! Ill floor my L and let off sometimes right before its about to shift cause im making turns or something. Then I will immediatly get back on the gas and the Rev limiter hits and the truck stalls for a sec while it waits to shift. I hear a big screech sound from the front when this happens or even sometimes when im just going from 0mph to whatever speed at WOT. I hope its not the belts, I dont even have 500 miles on "Tiffany" (the L) yet

If it is occurring when your RPM's are dropping very fast, such as when it shifts real hard and pulls the engine down very quickly, it is probably your accessory drive belt slipping a bit. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are hearing it for a prolonged period. I've heard this occasionally on my old 97 as well as my 00 F150.

Mike.

I think I have the same problem. From 1 to 2 gear, there is a high pitched noise. every once in while from 2-3 gear.

I don't know what the screech noise is.

The delay you feel is a 4 cylinder fuel cut off when shifting. If you get a chip it will get rid of the fuel cutoff, and the stalling sensation you are feeling.

Get a hold of some of the Texas Lightning guys, they will help you out.
