Anyone with JL ram air.....

Anyone with JL ram air experience any kind of creaking noise with it installed? I took it off and re-installed everything but it came back a few days later. The pipe is rubbing against something, just couldnt find where, there were no wear marks on the pipe that would pin point the area. puzzling.....

I have had no trouble with my kit. Just had to trim the inner plastic liner a little. Thats all.
Oh, and every few thousand miles I pull my cone filter off to dig out all the bugs that get sucked up to the end of the filter. Glad I have an outer wear!

I have the noise too. I think its the rubber piece that connects the filter to the red hose. But i dont really care, because I know what it is.

Don't you just love those annoying noises that are just there!

I have a "little" squeak when the tire is turned hard right to the steering stop while backing out the driveway. The tire makes contact with the black metal tube and I believe its the hose clamp that bolts to one of the steering box bolts, that makes my little noise. Only hear it when backing out of the driveway. i can live with it

No noises here, except the standard F150 clunk. If you install the kit correctly it shouldn't make any noises. You can adjust the pipe so it doesn't rub anything. JL will be able to give you some pointers.

By the way, if anyone has the install (or any other JL part install) documented with pictures please send me a copy. I'm trying to get online instructions of the installs. Thanks.

99,

forthcoming.

Took a BUNCH of pictures during the de-install and will add the all important fender skirt trim section upon re-install.

Need to get the pipe re-powdercoated. Red pipe on silver truck would stand out just a bit.
