TampaSVT, just wanted to know if you're still running your cut stock springs in front? If so, how do you like them now that you have some miles on them?
Thanks,
Bob
Thanks,
Bob
They've either softened and gotten more comfortable or I've just gotten used to them. You still can "feel" the road alot more than stock height, but the look is overwhelming.
I may get my hands on another set of BellTech 2" drop springs and modify them instead of the stock springs. I think the ride would be greatly improved and still maintain the full 3" drop.
I don't want to get into replacing upper/lower arms or spindles to achieve this drop. I rarely drive the truck, so it's not as big of a deal as someone who uses the truck as a daily driver.
Everybody just has to weigh function vs looks, IMO.
I took NozeBleedSpeed for a ride a couple of weeks ago in Daytona. He didn't think it was bad.

Thanks for the info. I love the look of your truck with the drop you have. I'm thinking about going that low with mine. I just need to check the clearance of my driveway going into my garage. A replacement set of stock springs is about $100, so I figure that if I don't like the ride/height with the cut springs, it won't cost to much to get back to stock.
Thanks again,
Bob
Thanks again,

How much off the spring did you cut. My truck's a little higher now with the 20's and the 40 series tires now. I got enough clearence to get another inch or more so its high enough to dirve around town.
Rich the only thing you have left to do to your truck is the tailgate handle. I painted mine a couple months ago and its looks allot better then black. Its really easy too.
That picture is bad a$$!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still waiting for sir michaels to get the roll pans in again???

Thanks. Actually it'll be shaved soon. The tailgate handle, I mean...
The stock springs lost a full two(2) rings to get the full 3" drop. I'm thinking that the BellTechs would give the same drop with one(1) ring off and would certainly be a little more comfortable.
I just need somebody to try it or sell me a used set of BellTechs.
Anybody?
Rich

No. Like an idiot, I sold my BellTechs after the stock spring mod...
You're joking about bagging it, right? Since it's you, I just have to ask.
I'm telling you, though. If this truck was a regular F150, I'd be sittin' on the rails already. Not a good mod for a performance truck though...
Thanks, Scampi...

I rode in TampaSVT's truck and I was going to cut my stock springs like he did.I have decided to go with a Belltech 2" drop springs upfront and 2' drop shackles in the rear.I decided not to cut the springs so I could always put it back to stock height if I wanted,I would just put the other springs back in.I am doing the drop tomorrow,so we'll see how it turns out.
Rich's truck rides very good considering he has damn near on the bumpstops.
