Since were still waiting on Auto Meter to come out with the Lunar Series guages, I found a way to make the illumination on the Phantom guages match the dash lights better (IMO). After installing two Phantom guages in my truck, using the green bulb covers, I noticed that the dash illumination was more of a blue-green color. I used some blue bulbs (194B from wally world) and then used the green covers on them. Now the dash and the guage lights are almost exactly the same color. Try it and see what you think.

 

I hate the color of these guages at night. I want red. Anyone who is a pilot knows that all airplane kockpits are illuminated in red because red does not affect your night vision. Has anybody changed out the bulbs to red and if so how hard is it to get to them all and how did it look?

I've got the blue/green in the boost.
It's a cool combination, IMO.

 

I have LED bulbs in mine. You can get em in popular colors red, green, blue, white, yellow. It really looks much better than the bulbs with covers....a more intense light.

If you want them with two colors in one bulb they can custom build them for you. For instance green/blue in one bulb.

They are a but pricy but worth it.
BTW these are not the same LEDS you see in magazines for $10. These are the high quaity stuff.
