Question Boost cut out question

Can someone tell me what exactly makes the boost cut out activate? Is it the RPM's or High Boost or what? I went to the track last night and I forgot to unplug it, I made a great first pass came right back around and launched out tight then it hit me like an anchor. I read awhile back that some other are leaving it unplugged all the time, Is this a good practice or not? I can hear a difference in the air being relieved from under the hood but no other effects. I have made the boost actuator adjustments and its put my boost well into the black above 10# and still running stock pulley's. If its not a good idea to leave it unplugged all the time I'm thinking of mounting a remote switch in the cab for convenience. Thanks for any info

Mine's(along with several others) been disconnected for 8-9,000 miles--daily driver/1/4 miler--with no problems. JDM provides a by-pass kit for those who don't want a 'code' set. No 'surprises' at the track!
