hi guys i need to know if jl has a flip chip now with the diablo sport team. i have a single mode chip but with my new purchase of nitto drag radials now i need a 2nd program for the new gearing. i love these tires so far and ill post my new times with them after i get the chip. but with the short tires it has thrown my shift points way to the high side as i expected.

o and by the way i had my best time on the f1s last friday night. i ran a 8.53 @ 83.4mph. with a 1.99 60'.

No Diablo flip chip yet..I'm going to call Diablo direct and start complaining that I want a flip Diablo chip ASAP...

I'm suggesting that as many people as posssible give them a call wanting a flip chip available now...I'll search for Diablo's phone # and post..

 

thanks dl, just how r all of you guys that r running diablos and slicks running on the street and strip. its a pain to have to change to a different chip just for a drag race on the track. i know its easy i have done it plenty of times but i would rather flip it. now i dont know what im gonna do. but i do want the flip chip. those who have run both the jl and jdm chips how do they compare. im pretty sure they arent very much difference but correct me if im wrong like i know yall will.

I can personally say I love my JL street chip better than the JDM flip chip I had (Street/Warm Weather program) and have tried the JL race program chip, it was Awesome...I'm going to wait on the Diablo flip chip or buy another chip with the race program..

In the meantime, I'm going to contact Diablo to hurry up and release a flip chip..The Diablo chips are already capable of accepting 4 programs...

Let us know how you like the Nitto Drag Radials , I was at BG and saw Paul's High performance using them...What's the price for a pair?

Rusty what size are the Nitto's?

 

they were 315/35/17's. 555R and the little bit that i felt this afternoon they r awesome. they are bout 3 inches or so shorter so they really made it strong b/c of the new gearing. but i gotta have a new chip to accomadate the tires. i put em on and went for the test drive and they handle just like a street tire and they hook really well. i launched harder than i ever have the f1s and at 1200 rpms with very little spin and even when spinning they were pulling. but it didnt shift until somewhere round 5800 or 5900 needless to say i never did it again. and i lost boost when it hit 2nd. so i am in desperate need of a new program so i can go have fun with these babies. i feel like im gonna be a new member to the elite 12 second club soon and i feel like im gonna see a 1.8 60 ' and maybe with some luck 1.7s.

dl, get on them bout that chip im gonna email em.

My fastest time yet in my 01L was 12.82 @ 107.44 on my 20" Goodyears, 60 foot was 1.90...The 18" Nittos looked promising at BG. I'm going to get a set when they are available and hopefully get even better 60 foot times...

Sounds like you'll be in the 12's real soon..

Rusty: that chip is programed to shift @ 5,400 we also shift by rpm not mph so i believe you should check your contacts and make sure there clean. if thats not the problem then give me a call JL

ok johnny ill check them and make sure they r clean this afternoon when i get home and then ill give you a call. the first time i nailed it it shifted down into 2nd and when it hit 3rd it shifted at bout 5550 or so that wasnt bad but when i stopped it really screamed on the 1-2 shift and i lost boost where i have never lost boost be4. i know you will take care of it for me ill call you soon.

dan, i been terrorizing some 1/8th mile tracks down here the last 2 weekends. b/c of me they r now a few chevy's who had their feelings hurt except for one 454 ss that had a 200 shot of nos to it. he beat me pretty bad. he was on m/t racing slicks and he was no timing it but if i had to guess he ran bout a 7.90- an 8.20. if all works out ok and weather permits fri. ill be in reynolds. Launch hard!! if i dont show.

 

Unplug that boost-dump solenoid! Mine's been disconnected for 8-9,000 miles with no problems--and no loss of boost--even with a 5,900 rpm burnout.
