Question a few questions

I know that almost everyone uses the air induction systems from JL, JDM, and PSP. But how about the K&N genII F.I.P.K.? I have also noticed that it is C.A.R.B. certified. What is that? Does C.A.R.B. cert. have to deal with emission laws?
Another thing... where do I find what number my truck is and where is the box (sorry don't know the name to it) that you can plug the chip into. As you can see I know nothing about this kind of stuff.

Thanks for the info.

To my knowledge, no one has tried an FIPK. Does K&N make a FIPK for the 2nd gen Lightning? The computer (technical term: PCM) is up under the dash on the passenger side sticking through the fire wall. It's a good sized silver color box.
