cracked fog lights
cracked fog lights
Seversl weeks ago I mentioned that I had discovered what
appeared to be heat related cracks in the fog lights on my
01 Lightning.
I had the oppurtunity to go by the dealer where I bought the
truck last week to just say "Hello". While I was there I showed them to the owner of the dealership who immediately summoned his service/parts manager. After they both ran the vin number
through the computer they informed me that my new lights would
be in sometime this week, and that they would call me and set up an installation appointment for them. HMMMMMM !!!!! Could this
mean there is a recall on them?
On the performance side, I went to one of the local tracks
yesterday which is known to be slower as the last 600 FT. runs
slightly uphill. Needless to say the truck loved the 44 degree
weather and ran off 3 passes of 13.0, and 2 of 12.9, with all
5 runs being 104.5 to 104.6. Although I have run 12.88 at 109
mph at the other local track that is almost always .2 to .3 , and
4 to 5 mph hour faster, I was quite pleased with these times.
It never ceases to amaze me as to how many people who
frequent the track still don't know about our trucks.
I bet over a dozen people came up to me and wanted to know
all about it, and explained that they did not know anything about them. One even asked who SVT truck company was.
Two poor SS 396 Chevelle owners that got an @ss Whoppin'
in the first two rounds of eliminations were heard mumbling
something that sounded like "Gotta get me one of those".

ok Marc, where do you run that beast and what kind of mods do you have on her?
I went by the WHSP parking lot a couple weeks ago and checked out the salary lot to see what kind of beasts were fenced in there. I'm not sure but i may have seen a silver one, but not sure. What color is yours?
Check you later.---Jim

Hello Jim.
I have a new Blue and Gold Supercrew that I drive to the plant
that sets just outside of the executive garage. You couldn't miss
it as it is very low to the ground.
My 01 Lightning is Silver, and also sets a little lower as I have
dropped the rear 2".
My modifications are as follows.
JDM lower pulley
JDM air filter
Superchip
Magnaflow muffler
Cervitis cowl induction hood
And of course when I go to the tracks, which are Quaker City
in Salem ( which is the slower of the 2), or Dragway 42 near
Lodi, I change over to 26 X 11.50 X 16 Mickey Thomnpson E/T street slicks mounted on American Racing Outlaw 2 aluminum
rims.
So far my best is 12.88 at 109 MPH at 42. I was going to stop
but as the weather gets cooler the truck keeps running stronger
and I can't get the urge out of my system. Went 3 rounds in E/T
bracket yesterday before loosing by .002 in the semi-finals.
Iknow you bought yours at Down Town in Canton, but when did you get it. I originally ordered a Black one but when Brad called and said it was in in March, we went down and when I saw the
Silver one setting there that had already been spoken for, I had
to have it instead of the Black one. It helps being a Ford Managerial type employee if you know what I mean......
Keep in touch with me Jim, its nice talking to you.
