Need Help on Seat Hold-back

I remember this being covered about a year ago and I couldn't find anything on the search I did. The back of the driver's seat will not stay in position, apparently the holdback in not functioning. I tried pushing the seat back all the way to the front and all the way back to see if it would engage. This didn't help. The seat will stay fully reclined but not at any intermediate position. Can anyone help? TIA.

Funny, I had the same problem the other day while I was cleaning the inside of the rear window. Shook me up at first, but after thinking about it, I moved the seat forward as far as possible and then reclined it all the way back while holding up the rear latch and then let go of the latch. It caught and I was able to reset it to the desired angle (from the side adjustor) and everything was fine. Not sure what caused it, but it's fine now. Thought maybe my seat cover had something to do with it. Hope this works for you.

That's exactly what I did but unfortunely it clicked fully reclined but would still not engage when upright. Thanks.

I edited my original post to be more explicit. I think there is a "gear" that catches the latch and maybe your just getting on to the first tooth. I moved the passenger side back and forth a few times to get a feel for waht was happening before I was able to fix the drivers side.

Did it to me last week too. I had to think how to fix it to remember as well. Wild, I guess there is enough of these trucks out there now that this will happen to one of us daily <G>.
