Truck no start w/ Superchip..HELP ME

Truck no start w/ Superchip..HELP ME

A friend of mine wanted a chip that i have........tried to install it in his truck.........PCM connection was never touched.......cleaned connection like 4 times.......chip contacts were making a good connection..........no start........tried it like 5 times total.......no start........he has a 99........cux1........but has a new engine....he dosent know if it is a 99 engine........does it matter????.....would the pcm have to be reprogrammed for a 01 or 00 engine??? please help.......................im totally lost...................Keith

PCM code need to match the chip.

Dealer probably re-flashed the PCM when the engined was swaped. More than likely a CUX-2 now.

how would i be for sure if it has been changed to a cux2?? will it stilll have the same pcm?????

Open the...........passenger side door............and check the.........area close to the .............hinges for a.....small rectangular.......sticker............CUX1 = 99..........CUX2 = 00................If they took the time to re-flash........hopefully they added a second...........sticker..........

If they re-flashed it, you would still have the same PCM. But like Silver said, I bet thats what they did.
