plastic steps... has anyone painted them?

I just wanted to find out if anyone had painted their plastic side steps and tail steps? If so, what do you think? Would you do it again? Did you sand them down first?
I want to install a roll pan and think it would look better with painted steps.

Easter:

I've talked to people that have simply painted the steps and corners. Most weren't satisfied with the results.

They do make fiberglass step replacements. Trenz makes a great top for them.

The corners that you are referring to can be replaced with the one's from Sir Michaels(if they ever make them again). They would allow the rollpan to match perfectly.

Hope that helps.

Hey TampaSVT

May I ask where you got those SWEET L@@Kin front step pads painted to match. I talk to a guy Florida about the Billet Trenz step pads, I would also like to know about your comment about IF SIR MICHEAL"S EVER MAKES ANOTHER ROLL PAN ? I am currently waiting for the SEMA show this year to see what they offer before I jump the gun here. I currently have a LUND roll pan and other than the fact I spent a day making brackets for mounting, it looks almost factory. (I have folks ask me if it was an option?) Thanks I will be lloking for another post here!!

Sir Michael's has a huge waiting list for the rollpan and corners, from what I've heard. A dispute about the molds is most likely the issue...

The front steps are made by a shop here in Florida. Sir Michaels gave me their #. They do great work. If you want them painted, let him know you're paint code. He's an F150 show truck owner, too. You won't be disapointed.

I should be seeing him in Daytona this weekend at the Truxpo 2001 show. I'll make sure he still provides them.
Cost was about $150.00 prepped for paint.

Call him for exact pricing. His name is Dave. (727) 847-4268

Trenz makes the billet aluminum step cover.
