Hung with a 13.0 Cobra from 80 to 110
On the way home from the NMRA world finals on Sunday,
Came across a black 99 Cobra and had about 3 runs. With 700 miles on the truck and my fresh JL Chip and Pulley, he was able to pull only a bumper on me from 80 to 110. I was pretty happy to say the least. I know how these cars love to run top end, and to have my brick cutting the wind right beside it was nice.
My buddy that runs factory stock told me that particular cobra was running 13.0's over the weekend.
I don't know why, but he wouldn't run from below 80, well maybe i do know why.

spiro,
i don't have plans on it, i have a thing about be able to run my # all the time and being consistent at the strip and street.
i want to get as close to a 12.0 as i can and i'll be happy there (hmmmm, heard that before, lol)
who knows, never done it, maybe i'll take your truck for a spin and see how she feels

My Silver 01 only has 320 miles on it and has a Level 10 shift kit, JL Powerstack on it. Runs ok, but I am used to my old 99. That should change today once USPS comes with my JL goodies (Diablo chip and 4# pulley).
spiro: I will be spraying soon, had my chip setup for 50-75 shot. Can't wait to spray!

Terry,
I hear what your saying, but you may be mis-informed about nitrous. Nitrous cars (dual power adders included) CAN run consistently.
As you know, to run consistently, we need to maintain certain TEMPS for the coolant, motor, TRANNY (important) Tire temp and pressure... etc...And of course a consistent truck. I thankfully have been blessed with one of the most consistent trucks on this board, as well as a healthy A S S motor thats still running too fast for over 40K on the clock.
But...with Nitrous it's VERY important to maintain BOTTLE PREESURE at a consisitent rate. And always be aware just how much juice is left. A good thing that I always recomend to people is to waste the extra money and buy the 15lb. bottle.
With a 15lb. bottle, you will actually maintain the Go-Go juice pressure for a longer distance as compared to the tiny 10 lbs. bottles. ooohhh crap...I just gave a way one of my secrets
The main things to buy for when buying a nitrous kit is a purge valve, and heater. As you may already know NX offers the best heater available today IMO. It's controlled by pressure, and maintains it nicely. With a purge, you'll always have a INSTANT shot when you demand it, no hesitation with it.

I can go on forever on this subject..LOL I should shut up now

I ran into a white 99 Cobra on the way to JL's shop. He though he wanted to play but I put an easy 4 truck lengths on him from a 3rd gear roll. All he could do is laugh and shake his head in disbelief that FORD really does make a truck faster than their cars.
