The sound of warp speed
The sound of warp speed
More frequently than I should,I test the last 3 digits on the speedo and my stupidity factor. The noise in my cab during these moments of passion, is a very loud rumble, kind of like a train.the truck feels fine but the noise magnifies the pucker effect. For those that have run at this speed for extended periods,do you have the same intense rumble? Is this normal?
It's kind of an outside chance, but verify that your windshield trim is secure on the top edge of the glass. Mine popped out and BANGED on the roof of the cab at about 115~120. SCARED the bjesus out of me. If yours is only slightly loose, I could see where you MAY get a rumble noise.

Yea I know exactly what your talking about, we're moving alot of wind with the ol Lightning and I guess that noise has got to be the thunder clapping behind us. I've found that a great Alpine unit can make every bit of the horrendous noise go away.
Jake,I've checked the rubber seal.I think it may contribute a little to the noise from peeling back, but it has never come loose. The noise I have really starts to get loud at around 140.If i stay in it,it just gets much louder as it climbs.I'ts like a rumble from air,or maybe cab resonance from my magnaflow.I always thought it was due to lack of aerodynamic design, but the truck pushes down hard on the pavement at that speed. You can feel the truck push down.Any thoughts?
