I paid less than sticker.My salesman was stupid,cuz I would have 40,000.

Just don't act too excited.Tell him you can get it for 1000 less at XYZ dealer.Tell him to call you when he's serious about selling.

The way the economy is, and the way there are too many 01 L's on the market, you should be able to get one MUCH cheaper than 35K. Tell that dealer that you are no sucker, and then walk. They'll call you with a better deal after you leave. Reguardless, don't pay more than 29,000-30,000.
good luck.
later,
chris
P.S. A salesman at my dealership had a deal made with a customer just last week on one of the black ones for something like 28,900. The customer didn't like that his payment was going to be over $500. Waaahhhhhh! That's what happens when you try to buy a 32,000 dollar truck with no down payment idiot.
'01 Prices in the Great White North
Canada is definitely the place to buy a Lightning. Since both the engine and the truck are built here, they definitely save the best and fastest ones for us!
. MSRP in Canadian dollars is $42640.00 including freight. Allowing for exchange, that works out to a shade over $28000 US. That's on MSRP! My dealer was willing to work on the price with me, but since I had the fever real bad, I was forced to trade a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban LT (What the hell was I thinking buying that?), he bit into his gross on the L in order to give me enough to clear the loan on the 'Burb. Without a trade, I'm confident I could have bought it for about $25000 US. Canadian dealers are technically prohibited from selling new vehicles to US citizens, but it still doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. Be creative and make friends with a Canadian! Plus you get a speedo that reads to 220! (km/h that is.) My dealer has 10 on the lot right now. 4 Red, 3 Black, 3 Silver (no white).

What!
Do I have to be the first to say X-PLAN!! Do a search (wheres nolvem?) for X-PLAN or EAA. Join and get X-plan pricing. I'm not related to dealers in any way. they gave me xplan of $28,789.28 + T,T,T - $1,500 rebate. This was last week. ANY Jo Blow can get this price. Pending the dealer will honor it. If not, find one that will! 35k is a rip off. You'll get all the details when you do a search.
OK! So i was getting ripped off THANKS FOR THE INFO!!! I live in houston, how do i find where there are dealers doing X PLAN? I think im going to call the dealer right now and see if they will go down. HELP ME find a good deal!

Finding an X-Plan dealer isn't too hard, just a little time consuming. First, you proably know 99.99% of the SVT authorized dealers in your area. (Available on Fords web site) Simply call them and ask to speak to the Fleet mgr (or member of fleet team) Ask if they currently have any L and if they would honor X-Plan priceing for one. Second if there aren't but 1-3 dealers near you that you're used to, scout around. Its worth the drive to save a couple thousand dolars. Just ask LIGHTNINGROD.
Hope this helps.

Where did you get that deal from??? I've been calling around and asking for someone in new car sales. Will asking for a fleet manager or someone in the fleet dept. be better?

. I didnt know about it until after I got the truck and found out about this site. You might want to try that route. If you do find a place that accepts them, let me know so I can spread the word
.
red light, if they take a car back to the united states they must by law have the speedo changed to miles an hour. and they must acquire an epa sticker. the change over cost roughly 1000 dollars. i know because i sold my 99 to a guy from the states.
