Talking Picked up Silver 01 today!!

I picked up my first new car today! I got it for $27,683, and 2.9% financing for 60 months. I have just one question, what kind of wax should i use?!? I was thinking Zaino or the Cherry Wet wax?

My cousin paints for a major Ford dealer here in Atlanta. He told me with mine to wait 3 months from the date of manufacture to apply any waxes or polishes so the paint can harden completely. He says the paint "breathes" for up to 3 months also.

congrats on your lightning i just got mine about 10 days ago also silver and also 2.9 and now that i think of it for around 27,600 (x plan)
as for wax, my friend works for auto detail shop and i think of him as an expert in this ( car detailing) department he uses meguiars liquied wax , its great he also has a lightning; a black one
he also "clays" the truck this is when you take a special clay and rub it all over the truck. the clay picks up all the very small crap that soap wont pick up
good luck with your new toy, these trucks rock

congrats

congratulations on the new toy. do wait to wax it. i used to detail cars for a living and you should wait atleast three months.

i must say that i am extremely jealous of you. i was supposed to get the 01 silver, d@mn financing. but the 99 black works fine for me. have fun with it.

Yes!

Another silver L--great price! I use Cherry Wet Wax here much about Zaino but never have tried it(except for their glass polish--smells like toothpaste and works).

C/C-somethin' else to wrassle about!--Cherry vs. Zaino(rhymes with Draino?) Chance for rain in Reynolds Fri--puke!

Congrats! Good choice of colors too! I use Zaino on mine and am very pleased. Never tried Cherry Wet Wax. Zaino takes a lot of work the first time you use it with all the prep and stuff. After the initial washing with Dawn, Clay bar, Z1, etc., it gets easier. IMHO Silver will never give off the shine that red or black paint does but it will look much better than original with repeated use.
