Question Boost Gauge Pickup

Anyone know where the boost gauge pick is located. Does it pick up at the blower or after the intercooler in the lower intake. Some are posting increase in boost after intercooler recall replacement. I don't understand how replacement intercooler would increase boost. I can see how it would flow and perform better. Anyone ?

I don't know where on the motor the boost gets read from (i.e. where the capillary tubing starts), but I did just get my truck back yesterday from having my 2nd IC and a cylinder head replaced (due to the dealer never properly torque-ing the stock plugs down when they replaced my first leaky IC), and although I can't exactly figure how or why, it definitely seems to be building more boost than before. I guess the true test will be at the strip next week. My best time thus far has been a 13.05 @ 105.7 that I ran about a month ago, but that was with a leaky IC, and with what I later found out the hard way to be a bunch of loose spark plugs (i.e. lots of lost cylinder pressure). Not to jump the gun, but I think its a pretty fair assumption to say I can "pencil" my name in on the list of people in the not so elusive or exclusive (anymore) 12's club...but we'll have to wait and see I guess. Later...
