Unhappy Those who traded 99-00 L for 01?

I was wondering if any 99-00 L owners would mind telling how much it cost you to trade up to an 01? My figures come out to 8k plus 1.7k in tax to trade my 00 and have the same payment with 5 year 2.9 and x plan.

8 thousand would buy you some 01 lights and a 01 motor. I think you should keep your truck. If you want to meet halfway you can use my pulley and chip if you want to try it out.

I got 22k for my '99 w/ 12k miles. I paid 28,900 on X-Plan for my '01, and received much better interest rates.

You'd probably break "even" or come out better in the long run if you got ahold of the new 0% interest rates they are currently being offerend.

Jeff, i was thinking almost 10k would buy a more efficient blower[when available] a bullitproof tranny, internal mods ect...The ss camaro i was telling you about was not an slp package. This camaro is sold only at berger chevy in grand rapids with 415hp and costs 44k with i beleive only 50 made.Berger has been famous around camaro circles for limted production camaros since the 60's. BFB, the 0% is only on 36mo financing,i want 60 month to keep my payment at 400.00 a month, otherwise i would buy a Z06 if i wanted to make 750 a month payments lol.

No, Ford Motor Credit is doing 2.9% for 60 months I do know this, as my best friend just bought a silver one today for that in Pensacola, FL.

I was told that they are doing 0% from my local dealer. So it depends on who you buy it through.

BFB, if your dealer has 0% for 60 mo,they will be out of L;s in no time. I was offered 21.5k for an 00 with 28k with bassani headers ,cat back,373 gear..all of which was installed at dealer when new plus hard cover, turn signal mirrors, billet grills,2in drop, tires with less than 3k on them and lots of other performance parts. With x plan and 2.9% the trade would cost almost 10 k. Iv'e heard more than one owner say they traded a 99-00 with regular rates for 6k and no x plan.If a 99 with 12k is worth 22 then you would think an 00 with 28k would be worth at least 23k as trade in. It seems i would have been better off trading a month ago before tragedy hit. Then again there aren't many replys to this question so maybe everyone is getting raked over the coals. Anyone who bought an L thinking it will be worth a lot down the road, better start driving them because it is not going to happen imho.

It cost me $5000 to trade up, didn't put any money down on the 01. I just added the difference on the note for the 01 and with the lower % rate, my payments dropped 25.00! Only thing I went from 40 payments left back to 60! Now after this one went in the mail this week only 50 left to go

Well just did this on Sat. so it is very fresh in my mind. Joined the EAA $40, Purchased a Silver 2001 Lightning on X Plan $29,261 (they charged me for window etching), gave me $20,500 for my trade and owed $23,400. I purchased the 99 L used for $27,200 with 3,500 miles on it so it was financed at a used car rate 9.5% and did not catch that the dealer financed us with 66 payments which I still had 54 payments left @ $570.67. The 99 L needed new tires so if I kept it they would have needed to be replaced. On to the 2001, it was financed with no money down and my negative equity on my 99. With the 2.9% and 60 payments my payment is now $572.47. So in my case, with the savings of the lower rate I only lost aprox $3,540 - $960 (new tires for 99) - $100 for the 90mm mass air from my 99 - ($?) what I sell the 2001 lights from the 99 for. for a total loss of aprox $2,150 to go to a new truck with 3.73 gears and the other misc. things. The hardest thing was to take all the parts off the old and now setup the new truck (to go faster than the old with JL parts)LOL Sorry this is so long, it seemed like many of you were interested in doing this. In my case, needing tires talked my wife in to getting the new L (and she likes Silver better than Black)

Paid $29,500 for a 2001L (4 miles) .....No X-plan or anything.

BUT......I'm paying 7.9% for 60 months.

Should have waited 3 more weeks!!

Here in DE they are offering 60 months at 0%...yes 60. And that combined with the X plan, and tax free in DE, works out to a great deal
